2009 WA State Taekwondo Championships : Info and Forms

This is a selections tournament for entry into the 2009 Australian National Taekwondo Championships to be held in Brisbane later this year. (1st to 4th October).

Date: Saturday 8th August & Sunday 9th August 2009
Venue: Kwinana Recreation & Leisure Centre Corner Gilmore & Chisham Avenue, Kwinana WA. Get directions here
Weigh-in:
Saturday 8th August At Kwinana Recreation & Leisure Centre; 2 pm to 4 pm At ATI gym, Unit 7, 1924 Beach Road, Malaga, 9 am to 11 am
Sunday 9th August Kwinana Recreation & Leisure Centre; 8:15 am – 9 am
All Competitors must present identification at the weigh-ins

Poomsae: Saturday 8th 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Sparring: Sunday 9th Juniors: u10, u12, u14: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm Seniors: u18 & open: 1:30 pm – finish
Lunch: 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm Approx
Player entries: $35 for sparring $30 for poomsae 1st event, $15 additional event, $10 less if entered in sparring as well. Closing date: Friday 24th July (received date by organisers).
Spectator entries: Saturday: $5 adult; $2 child (u18); $10 family (2 adults + 2 children). Sunday: $10 adult; $5 child (u18); $25 family (2 adults + 2 children).
Protectors & Guards: Players are to provide their own protectors: Compulsory protectors: Trunk protectors (full coloured, no circles), head guards; arm guards, shin guards, groin guards and white coloured or clear mouth guards. Hand protector gloves (white coloured, 1st finger joints fingers exposed) for u18, open and veteran black belts Optional protectors: White coloured in-step protectors (toes exposed); White coloured hand protectors (1st finger joints exposed) for u10, u12, u14 all belts and u18, open and veteran coloured belts. All players must have their nails cropped and no jewellery or attachments are allowed during competition.

    This WA State championships will be using the new WTF competition rules, all new rules will be implemented and a new modified jury review format in place of a video system.

    There is now an easy to print program guide for this tournament. It’s a 1 page poster for the 2009 WA State Taekwondo Championships that would be up around the venue on the days (I believe).
