i find it funny aswell some of those judges might need to have a look at some footage that was taken, Punches not being counted etc…..

    whats up with that??.

No, I find it funny how I won Best Patterns and me losing to the eventual Best Fighter. Not about the judging.

Unless you become a qualified referee or judge, you will not know how difficult it actually is to judge at a tournament. I will not disclose on here what qualifies for a point, with respect to punches, if you really want to know you should attend an accredited referee course.

Yes, I complained during the middle of my match. Regarding punches AND scoring blocks. Not to take anything away from the judges, though. They had been sitting there all afternoon and believe me, it gets tiring.

I tried to make two points with my fight, one regarding scoring punches and one regarding scoring kicks blocked by the arm. My hope is for judges in WA to be of top quality.

I know, myself, that I sometimes miss scoring some punches also. I usually wake up after the first flurry of punches from a player though.

Having used one type of Electronic Body Protector (Protective Scoring System), I can summise how difficult it can be to score points – so knowing that, I can imagine that simply having the arm in the way will take at least 50% of the impact away – assuming it reaches the pad. So I pretty much never score any kicks when the arm is in the way.

It is difficult to be a referee / judge. It is a thankless job. The referees and judges at this tournament did (a good) job, considering the (in)frequency of their rotation.

They did what they thought was correct. I would do the same too – I will score or not score, according to what my interpretation of the rules are. I will issue warnings and penalties, again, according to what I think is correct. It then, just becomes a difference between what I think is correct what IS ACTUALLY correct.
