What’s a common kick for knockouts in WTF sparring?
Well, from this video that I found on youtube, it appears that spinning kick is quite effective. Especially when executed properly at the head. Obviously, a certain skill-set is required to be able to consistently perform an efficient spinning kick.
Have any of you experienced giving knock-out blows? With what attack and tell us of the situation and difficulty or easiness of it. Or maybe you’ve been on the receiving end of one.

Zachary Platt (left) and Jordan Cole (right) from the ATA Halls Head branch club showed how it was done at the Oh Do Kwan club junior invitations when they won convincingly by the 7 point gap rule. Both zipped through their opponents. Coach Brandon Farr was very pleased as they played the game according to his coaching instructions. It was Zac’s first compeititon and Jordan’s second (Jordan had won his first comp back in Oct 2007). Zac won the u14 boys yellow 46-50 kgs divison while Jordan won the u14 boys yellow 34-38 kgs division.
