WTF Competition Rules

The World Taekwondo Federation produced a short video clip in 2006 that briefly explains the competition rules for its premier event, sparring. It is currently still up on their website, and just in case they decide to take it down – we provide it here also. We have a special liking to it. Not just because we get to quickly (in 8 minutes) learn about some key competition allowances and disapprovals – we have appearances by an ATA WA member inside the clip! See if you can spot who it is, and when they appear in the video!

Winning performance at the 2006 Commonwealth Championships held in Brisbane, Queensland, October 13-15.

Richard Huynh won gold for this performance, beating several others from Commonwealth nations. Even one who was wearing a hat and honcho. It goes to show that technical ability and synergising good combinations is more important than appearance and props.
