2005 World Taekwondo Championships, Madrid Spain – April 2005

Kim Seng, officiating as the centre referee in a match between Spain and China in the male bantamweight division. The World Championships is a bi-annual event and is contested by about 1000 best players from about 100 countries.The Spanish capacity crowd was very parochial when supporting their Spanish team and players, sometimes making it difficult to hear the surrounds.

2005 World Championships, Madrid Spain, Kim Seng as the centre referee

Kim Seng as the centre referee during a match between Turkey (left) and Greece (right). Even though the players were non Spanish, the crowd was still very vocal in their support. The match was very even and Greece (2000 Olympic champion) won a closely fought match.

2004 European Olympic Qualification tournament – Baku, Azerbaijan – Feb 2004

Kim Seng officiated as International Referee at the 2004 European Olympics qualification tournament which was held in Baku, Azerbaijan (part of the old USSR). The event was held in February and it was very cold at the time. It was the most enjoyable time for the International Referees with superb hospitality from the Azeri people. The culture was predominantly Muslim in a European continent. Baku, situated on the Caspian sea, is most famous for its vodka and caviars.

Kim Seng officiating as centre referee in this match between United Kingdom and another European player. This tournament qualified the top 3 players from each division for the 2004 Athens Olympics.
