Coolbellup training temporarily relocated to Bibra Lake
Training at Coolbellup will be relocated from Len Packham Reserve Club Room (Main Hall) to the Bibra Lake Community Centre between October 18, 2008 through to November 14, 2008. The training days and times remain the same.
The City of Cockburn has advised that the Len Packham Reserve Club Room Main Hall will be undergoing major maintenance to the hall floor and will be unusable during this period.
Bibra Lake Community Centre is located on Parkway Road near the corner of Beedelup Loop. As I understand it, it is a much smaller hall so we will have to make do with the space constraints and be innovative with the way we utilise the venue.
You can view directions to the Bibra Lake Community Centre. The link is a google map of the destination with the new "street view" function from google maps. The hall in the centre of the "street view" is the Centre we will be utilising. You can also enter your starting address for google maps to work out a turn-by-turn navigation to the Centre.
Alternatively, you can download and print this short 2 page pdf file showing directions on how to get there from the Len Packham Reserve location. The final destination has a photo of the Bibra Lake Community Centre so you know what to look out for as you approach it.
I apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause some of you, and thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

I just picked up the keys for Bibra Lake Community Centre, and whilst there (talking to Jill) I asked about the Len Packham floor and she mentioned that they were “softening” it.
Not really sure what the details are…whatever they do, it’s going to be a lot easier on the feet and body (for falls) afterwards. I think maybe because the seniors (they do some stretching exercises or something there) can really benefit from the new floor….and so can we

I just heard from the Coolbellup students today that they saw timber flooring products on trucks outside the Len Packham hall. I guess that’s what they’re reflooring with.
I hope it doesn’t turn out to be like Hillman Hall in Rockingham. That floor was polished almost every other day and our uniforms kept getting stained brown whenever we had floor activity. Take-downs, groundwork and even stretching sometimes
I’m sure it’d be okay, because the seniors will be stretching on the same floor too. Surely they don’t want to get their clothes stained also.

I’ve just rang the council and Amanda has confirmed that “it should be okay to go back in”.
So starting tomorrow, Tuesday November 18 2008, we’re back at Coobellup’s Len Packham Reserver Club Room Main Hall.

We’ve returned to the Len Packham Hall at Coolbellup.
About 85% of the floor has been resurfaced. It appears they left one strip near the kitchen as it orginally was, and has timber flooring for the rest of the area.
We’ve finally had people being taken down quite comfortably on the floor … so it is definitely a lot “softer” than before, and still too hard to fully throw people around on.
