Courtesy of the Kukkiwon website, there are shockwave flash of the patterns that we do. You get to select the next move at your own leisure – certain steps has a side-view also. There's also a top-down view of the "overall shape and pattern" and where the feet roughly go.

For our registered ATA members, you can register/login (you can do that at the top of this page) and view video footages of the 17 patterns online right here on this website.

Due to it being a video – we encourage you to watch it as a guide only. Try to remember the steps and directions – although you would still probably need to go to class to refine the movements.

Check out the videos and links in the archive articles I posted on July 6, 2008. The videos are there over 4 pages.

You can also view it by navigating to "news/coaching news".

You will not be able to view them if you are not logged in, and if you are not an ATA member.

The training aid videos for the WTF Taegeuk Poomsaes will be revised. They will still remain in the July 6, 2008 archive, and each pattern will be updated on an ongoing basis.

For the interest of students, the best video for each pattern will be displayed.

Each pattern will be taken from students of the same colour group. ie. taegeuk 1 – 3 will have yellow belts performing. Taegeuk 4 – 6, blue belts and so forth.

Videos can be taken from anywhere – competition tournaments, grading, class or even just practising.

Videos must be taken with the practitioner filling up at least half the screen (height-wise at all times) and with a tripod or a very steady hand. Ki-hups must be clearly audible! Videos must be taken with a device capturing no less than 25 frames per second with at least 480x360 resolution.

If you have suitable footage that you would like for me to edit, then please submit it as an avi file on disc or pass me a mini-dv tape of it.

An ideal footage would be to have 4 cameras set up (front, back, left and right) while the pattern is being performed. Then a video edit would be required to show the best angles of each particular step as it happens. This can be difficult – so we can also perform the pattern 4 times (same environment) with one camera set up from a different perspective each instance.

Over time, we should be able to build up a library of students and observe their progress. I encourage all clubs to submit at least one entry so that we can showcase a wide range.

The links in the original post of this topic has been outdated. Kukkiwon has updated their site and it appears they have linked to an external (website) source for their poomsae education.

To find a detailed run through of the patterns, you can find it at

http://www.taekwonedu.kr

It appears to be all done by Kukkiwon. Well, the information is all sourced from material produced by Kukkiwon, anyway.

The site requires registration before you can enter. No payment is required and it looks like a very good valuable resource.
